MAR 350 - Introduction to Ocean Physics This course focuses on a set of fundamental concepts in physical oceanography, which include: heat budget and greenhouse effect, air-sea exchange and stratification, ocean water properties, global observing systems, surface and thermohaline circulation, surface gravity waves, planetary waves and tides, coastal processes, climate change, and ocean technology (e.g., ocean green energy). This course also addresses the importance of the oceans to society as well as the anthropogenic impacts on the oceans. Not for credit in addition to MAR 352 .
