HON 106 - Exploration of Human Experience What does it mean to be a human being on this planet? This broadly based humanities seminar provides a transhistorical, cross-cultural introduction to the human experience. Individual seminars will highlight enduring questions and critical themes, such as the nature of the self, conceptions of a good life, humans and their environment, and the nature of freedom. Integrating various disciplines, including history, literature, philosophy, and the arts (depending on the individual instructor), the course emphasizes primary texts as the basis for critical inquiry and class discussion, active reading, and writing to learn.
