HIS 238 - Science, Technology, and Medicine in Western Civilization II An examination of science, technology, medicine, and their social organization from 1790 to the present (from the French Revolution to the end of the Cold War) and the development of these systems world wide. Among the topics covered are professionalization of medicine, implications of physics for defense industries, growth of biotechnology, and the impact of Darwinism on culture.
