HIS 220 - Japan in the Age of Courtier and Samurai
Surveys the history of Japan from ancient times to the late nineteenth century. Examines the complex processes of political, economic, social, and cultural change in Japan’s transformation from aristocratic rule under the emperor to warrior rule under the samurai.
