HWC 416 - Integrating Seminar II The second course in the two-semester sequence (HWC 415 and HWC 416), this seminar builds upon the knowledge and experiences from the first seminar and the practicum. It allows students to further integrate the values, ethics, and skills they have acquired throughout the curriculum with their real-world practicum experience. Students will engage in deepening discussions around culturally sensitive practice and issues impacting historically oppressed groups. Additionally, they will explore how broader political, economic, and social factors influence social work practice and service delivery. This seminar will support the continued professional development of students, preparing them to apply the Social Work Code of Ethics and other core social work principles in their future careers. Students will also have the opportunity to discuss and plan their professional goals, including career paths and further educational opportunities.
This course will focus on the synthesis of learning and practical application, providing the foundation for students’ transition into professional social work practice.
