HNG 586 - Midwifery III This course emphasizes the normalcy of labor and birth as a physiologic and developmental process and prepares students to assume responsibility for management of care of the woman and fetus during the intrapartum period. The use of conceptual frameworks of wellness, health promotion and disease prevention will be emphasized. Communication and collaborative strategies will be emphasized to build upon the strengths of families and communities and minimize technological intervention.
