AFS 320 - Black Popular Culture and the Terrain A study of black popular culture in 20th century America through close readings of text, music, and film. We will examine black cultural production and its relationship to black political activism, particularly in the urban terrain. Enables students to interrogate the relationship between African Americans, culture and American society during the 20th century.
