HPH 506 - Biostatistics I This is the first of a sequence of two-semester courses with the aim to provide students and researchers in public health with an introduction to the principles of public health informatics and statistical methods with their application in biomedical and public health research. The course will provide necessary knowledge and skills to perform various data management tasks to create and manage data sets using SAS with basic proficiency. The course will also introduce summarizing and exploring data, probability theory, discrete and continuous probability distributions, populations and samples, sampling distributions and statistical inference, hypothesis testing, one-sample and two-sample comparisons.
