HWC 220 - Introduction to the Social Work Profession This course introduces students to the social work profession, including its core values, ethical principles, and historical development. Emphasizing social work’s commitment to human rights, social justice, and professional integrity, the course explores diverse areas of practice and foundational concepts. Students will critically reflect on their own readiness to enter a professional education program and begin their development as future changemakers in a rights-based profession.

Note: *This course is required for admission to the Social Work major and satisfies the SUNY Transfer Pathway requirement for Social Work.
