HAN 448 - Disability and Employment Explores the historical, legal, and practical aspects of disability and employment in the U.S. Introduces U.S. history of disability and employment; pertinent employment-related legislation; existing governmental and not-for-profit vocational rehabilitation programs; roles of placement professionals; and current disability employment practices. Examines Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act, with particular attention on ramifications of landmark Supreme Court cases. Restricted to students approved for appropriate senior year track in the Health Science major.
