HFN 503 - Nutrition in the Media: Making Sense of the Science This online course will increase students awareness of the pervasive nature of food and nutrition messaging and the varied motivations behind them. Basic concepts related to nutrition and food science will be presented along with the skills and resources needed to critically evaluate future issues and trends in nutrition. Topics to be discussed include popular supplements, fad diets, common chronic diseases and related dietary recommendations, sustainable food practices and food labeling.
