HHS 513 - Adult Dysphagia Examines the anatomy and physiology of normal and disordered swallowing in the adult population. Includes assessment and intervention of swallowing disorders; etiologies of swallowing disorders; working with tracheotomy/ventilator dependent populations; ethical considerations; documentation; insurance coverage; importance of client advocacy; and education of family and other professionals. Students will refine their skills through case scenarios, role-playing situations, interprofessional education and interprofessional practice.
