AMS 527 - Foundations of Numerical Methods


Introduction to fundamentals of numerical computations, including numerical solutions of nonlinear equations, numerical optimization, interpolation and approximation, differentiation and integration, initial and boundary-value problems, and fast Fourier transform. Students will explore how these numerical techniques are applied to solve real-world problems, utilizing tools like MATLAB and Python.
