AMS 504 - Foundations of Applied Mathematics An introductory course for the purpose of developing certain concepts and techniques that are fundamental in modern approaches to the solution of applied problems. An appropriate selection of topics is based on the concepts of metric spaces, compactness, sequences and convergence, continuity, differentiation and integration, function sequences, contraction mapping theorem. Strong emphasis on proofs.
